Bio

Sharif Muhammad holds a BA in Graphic Design and a M.Ed. in Instructional Technology. He has been a high school Technology and Humanities Teacher in Boston since 2002. In 2011, he picked up a paintbrush for the first time and realized that he never wanted to put it down. Since then, he has enjoyed exploring his abilities and testing his limits. While he has experimented and excelled with many different styles and mediums, he currently paints digitally using an IPad Pro and Procreate. He believes his artistic purpose is to represent, empower, uplift, glorify and convey the emotions of black and brown people living in America. Sharif has found that art enables him to express feelings about being a black man in America that would be flattened, simplified and limited by verbal or literal expression.
